   The Alcorn Career and Technology Center is pleased to announce that Gracie Hinton has been named the ACTC Rotary Student of the Month for February.   Gracie, the daughter of Greg and Christy Hinton, is a senior at Kossuth High School.  She is a program completer in the Teacher Academy program at the ACTC and is currently enrolled in Career Pathway Experience. She was nominated for this honor by her CPE instructor, Mr. Phil Smith and her Teacher Academy instructor, Mrs. Nan Nethery.

   At the Alcorn Career and Technology Center, Gracie is an Educators Rising member and serves as President of the ACTC chapter. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, where she serves as President of the ACTC chapter. She has also been a Career Delegate, leading younger students on tours of the Alcorn Career and Technology Center, for the past two years.

   At Kossuth High School, she is currently a member of FCCLA, FFA and is a Community Connections mentor.

   Gracie has taken part in various community service activities. She has served as a Special Olympics volunteer in 2014-2017, a Winter Wonderland volunteer, RHBAA Juvenile Auxiliary member, a 4-H member, and has partnered with Excel by 5 on various projects. Gracie attends Holly Baptist Church where she is a member of the youth group and works with Vacation Bible School.

   After graduation, Gracie plans to attend NEMCC, then transfer to Ole Miss to complete a Bachelor’s degree in special education. She would love to return to the Alcorn School District as a special education teacher.
